My passion for cycling actually started indoors at the CYKL spinning studio in Toronto. The community of road cyclists there was so positive, they constantly encouraged me to try road cycling. My first ride was a 75 km ride in Mallorca, Spain, with a bike that didn’t have clip-in pedals – and let me tell you, there were some very steep and enduring hills! I officially got into road cycling after I did a 100 km charity ride for CAMH with Tour De Bleu. I was given a brand new Bianchi to borrow for the ride, and ended up buying it.
I’m a travelling photographer, so the stunning scenery that cycling exposes you to around the world was a big bonus. I usually stick to the city streets for my photos, so I love that I am seeing more of nature as a result of cycling, all while taking care of my mental and physical health.
PEPPERMINT gear makes me feel like my cycling personality is best represented. Not only do the impactful colours and patterns fit my mood for when I’m on my bike, but the fabric and functionality always impress me. Oftentimes, I am excited to ride because I get to wear my gear!
My riding style: slow on hills, and fast on the flats. Especially when I’m drafting behind my 6ft3 fiancé.
