Les Équerres Ride, Lac-Beauport, QC - Into Sophianne Samson's Backyard

With a starting point only 15 minutes from downtown Quebec City,

the gorgeous ride of Les Équerres is appreciated by all the cycling enthusiasts in the area. This ride will make you crank out watts, raise your heart rate and make you proud of yourself!

This 66-kilometer ride is a loop along the Jacques-Cartier River and includes a few steep bumps, but the breathtaking landscapes and the calmness along kilometers 20 to 40 are worth it! 100% of the ride is done on paved roads and with a positive vertical drop of 722 meters, intermediate to advanced cyclists will be able to climb the difficulties of this wonderful course. This ride can be done alone or in a group. Plan between 2h30 and 3h30 of cycling and a little 30 minutes of pure happiness with a stop at Pascal Le Boulanger, in order to enjoy a tasty pastry and good coffee to end the ride well.

Useful information:

➸ Starting point: Ski Center Le Relais, Lac Beauport, QC
➸ 66 km, 100% paved
➸ 722 meters of elevation gain
➸ Intermediate to advanced level
➸ Duration: Between 2h30 and 3h30 + 30 to 45 min (mid-ride stop at Pascal Le Boulanger)

    After-ride spot to cool down

For residents of Lac Beauport, access to the beach and the docks is free with proof of residence. For non-residents, there is an entry cost.
    * Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, access is currently limited to residents only

After-ride spot for a good beer:

The terrace is stunning and the atmosphere is great!

Since the elevation gain is quite robust, make sure you have the right gear so that you can complete the ride with no trouble! Note that the loop can be done in both directions. When you start with Stoneham-Tewkesbury, the difficulty level is lower. This route is best suited for cyclists who want to chat more and admire the splendid landscapes without finishing the ride totally exhausted. When you do the loop that ends in Stoneham-Tewkesbury (the one I prefer), your pulses will go up and your legs will burn.
