Lac-Beauport, QC - Into Mylene's Backyard
The Talbot Boulevard (The Old Park Road)
Welcome to a safe and calm place, only 15 minutes away from Québec City’s downtown. Here is a ride that will allow you to surpass yourself, to crank up your watts, but also to enjoy a fun and relaxed moment in a zone of pure bliss. It is nothing but pleasure about a road ride with wide shoulders and not many cars.
Whether you are a beginner or an advanced cyclist, everyone is sure to find their own rhythm and challenges. You will love this adaptable ride towards the Parc des Laurentides. The Talbot boulevard is actually the old road 175 that used to connect Québec City to Saguenay.
During this back and forth ride totalizing 63 km, you’ll pass through Stoneham where a calm and natural environment prevails. You’ll be able to admire the arch bridge and pass over the highway, where you’ll enjoy a beautiful point of view. For those who really want to push their limits, take the exit towards St-Adolphe and get ready to climb on the Chemin des Cassandres. Then, go back from where you came from when you reach the roundabout near the entrance to the Jacques-Cartier national park.
The way back is a lot quicker thanks to the false descending flat with an ascending elevation of 520 metres. You will surely see several cyclists, people practising roller skiing or even see clubs racing against the clock. For me, this ride is the perfect me-time moment, but also a ride where I can really push my limits if I want to. Riding in style and comfort with my PEPPERMINT gear is part of my daily grind.
