I moved to Toronto from Nova Scotia in 2009 and for the first year I hated the city. I hated the streetcar, I hated the traffic, I hated the crowds. It wasn't until I got so fed up with it all and bought a bike that I finally started to like it here. At first I wasn't even sure if I remembered how to ride a bike but it quickly grew from a method of transportation, to a hobby, to a full-fledged obsession.
The city was suddenly more accessible, more fun and I was actually making friends! If it weren't for cycling, I might not have stayed in Toronto and met the great friends I have today. I race with a not-so-serious team called The Lantern Rouge and I just bought a truck that we're outfitting with a rooftop tent for more adventure riding this summer.
I'm excited to be a part of the PEPPERMINT Collective so I can meet even more bike friends and go on even more sick adventures!
