My name is Hélène Pilote, 25 years old, currently completing a Masters Degree in Food Sciences.
I am a cyclist since I am twelve years old. As far as I can remember, our main family activity was to go picnicking by bike 40 km away from home. I grew up with two parents passionate about road cycling and they passed on to me their desire to always push our limits through endurance sports. I love running, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, mountain biking and road cycling too, of course. Besides sports, I’m a creative person and an agro-food lover. My favourite products are fermented food like yogurt, cheese and coffee. My dream job would be to work in R&D in a milk-processing industry.
For me, cycling is like going on small adventures, at every ride. I am still amazed by this beautiful sport after 13 years of practice. Your bike allows you to witness breathtaking views, it makes you meet wonderful people and it helps you fix some goals and push your limits further than you ever thought possible. Cycling made me the person I am now and it helps me to keep a balanced lifestyle between my studies in food sciences, my friends and my personal life. It makes me live some victories, but it also teaches me how to lose. I am excited to share my story and my way of seeing life through sports with the PEPPERMINT Collective.
